My surgeon had me on a weight restriction for 2 weeks following surgery, but he said that I was free to do whatever after that!  I've been taking in kind of slow... doing exercise on the elliptical and some free weights. Hope this helps! good luck.

I was given clearance at four weeks under the condition that I didn't call her (my surgeon) from the gym asking for more pain meds. I kicked it into high gear at six weeks out and haven't stopped since.

I did short walking in the first few weeks, once the doctor said ok after 6 weeks i started the gym full time.. But i can not lift anything heavier then a gallon of mil****il i'm 6 months post op.. so i do light weight training, and walk run on the treadmill in the mornings, then at night i walk the neighbor hood.. so check in with your doc.

hi girl, congrats.
i tryed 2 walk 4 the 1th 2 months but i wasen´t feeling like it to be honest so i cheated a lot. so i ofically start my work out 2 months out. 1 hr of taebo ( is like kick boxing) from monday to friday. and when i was about 11 months out i add  pilates. so now i`m 15 months out.

and i do 4 times  per week pilates and 4 times per week takebo so there is 3 days of the week that i excercise 2 hours and the rest 1 hr.   and now i`m thinking about getting a personal trainer but i`m not sure if i wanna wait after my pastics to hire one `cuz is kindda expensive lol.

good luck!!!!!

I started walking right away, I wouldn't push myself... If I felt any pain or if i was tired, I stoped... Do the same listen to your body and its limits, walking is great and helps rid the body of all that gas! I started to increase my walking at 2 weeks... by  the 4 weeks you should be able to do light excersie, by 6 weeks systems should be a go... Definitly confirm with your doctor
