a weird question

Okay...so I've got a weird question about loosing weight and loosing sizes. As you loose more weight, do you loose sizes quicker?? Wow, that makes no sense....lemme try again.

I started at 336lbs...My clothes fit better by the time I hit 290. Now at 259lbs I'm actually realizing I need to buy new clothes because I'm a different size. So, when I drop from 259 to 230 will I probably loose more sizes or will the clothes I've bought just fit better like what happened at first?

I'm not sure I'm explaining my question very well. I haven't been below 260lbs since I was in high school and I'm used to gaining weight, not loosing it. I know I can put on like 20lbs and not change a size, but can I loose 20lbs at this point without dropping a size??

Anyone pickin' up what I'm puttin' down??

What size are you now? For me about 20 lbs is the difference between a 16 and an 18 and an 18 and a 20....

I'm 5'4" and at size 20 I was about 240 .... and size 18 I was about 220.... and size 16 I was around 200 I was wearing SOME tight 14's at 190.

This is in pants and dresses... my top is smaller.
Try the next size down more often and It'll help you keep up... At 220 I was size 18 and then I lost enough by when I was 205 my 18's were baggy but I didn't have the heart to try 16's (plus I LOVED my size 18 jeans!), but my mom convinced me to and the 16's fit perfect! Now that I'm back in 18s I wish I'd kept those jeans instead of letting my mom have them. She gave them away to other people already cause she shrunk out of them before I grew into them again :(
At least you won't have that problem ^_^

My jeans? Lane bryant, but they only have funny sizes there now... When I got a bit smaller though they were really baggy in the butt... lol... I liked them mostly cause they were a nice dark color. The other jeans I inherited in size 16 from other WLS people were all light colored. :(

every body type is different.. at 298 I could wear a size 22, at around 260i****hink think I could fit back into my 20s (but they were still tight) now at 235 my 20s are fitting in the waist but the legs and butt and lower front hip area are to baggy  but an 18 in the waist fits perfect but the legs are kinda tight so it just depends on how your weight is distributed. I would recommend shopping at a salvation army or something like that so you dont spend an arm and a leg on clothes as your losing. good luck.

i dont think there is a right or wrong answer to this question hun. It just really depends on how YOU lose weight..and lets face it with WLS it makes things even more complicated lol
you can literally not lose a lb in a month but still lose a pant size because you drop inches...and you can do the opposite as well.!!

Well this is a guy's clothing perspective here (what an oxymoron...)

I realized that my clothes got more "stretchy" as I got fatter and stretched them out more and more. So I am still in the same underwear because the stretchy band part is now actually fitting rather than trying to strangle my gut. Same with pants, even the non-stretchy ones are more stretchy than small people's clothes of the same style.

So I think sizes do drop faster in comparison to amount of weight lossed when you start getting into the "store sizes" and out of the "fat people catologues".

I started at a size 50" pants but were strained, I really should have had 52" but Walmart doesnt carry it! Now I am at a size 46, but I could use a 44. I went from 315 to now 255ish. But my 50's fit until about 275lbs then they wouldnt stay up!

I think it all depends on how you are shaped and if you are tall or short.  I'm only 5'4, so even though I weigh 163ish pounds, I'm in a size 10.  I know some people who are the same weight and in a size 6 but they are taller than me.   So I don't think that it's so much the number on the scale equaling the size you will be, it's the inches you are losing and how your body frame is.

Hope that helps!!
