Ugh!!!!
Hi yall!
So...I'm sitting at my desk at work, trying to motivate myself to go to the gym. Mom and I started going probably back in like January, February, I dunno...but we're working out with a personal trainer 2-3 times and week and of course we should be working out on our own the rest of the days...but its freaking May and I still can't get myself motivated to do this...I haven't been to the gym in almost 2 week and yes I'm going tonight, I'm already in my workout clothes, I just hate going! I think its because by the time I get home its 8:30 or later, I'm really thinking about going in the morning around 6:00 but God...I don't even get up now til 8, so am I fooling myself?
Anyways...I'm down to 233.4 from 276 since September with surgery being on October 17th of last year and I know thats wonderful, but I also know I need to work out...

Working out was not my thing pre-op and still not my favorite thing. I knew I needed to find something I love. Currently I am doing Zumba classes twice a week and I LOVE it. (I also walk 2 other nights a week--but it is more b/c I need to not because I love it). Try to find something you really love to do so it is a treat to workout instead of a chore.

any working out is better then not working out. I hate any form of exercize and have a long history of being a couch potato, even when I was thin and young. Motivation is the hardest part. and the first step. sometimes i get in my workout clothes and sit on the couch..... 2-3 days a week is awesome awesome! at least your doing that!
When it gets warm and summery and you want to put a suit on then maybe it will be a little bit motivating. ?????

This may sound weird but the way I look at exercise is that I compare it to one of my "jobs". Now, if we were at our regular job and didn't give our best performance we wouldn't get a promotion, raise, etc. If I don't work out, I won't get the reward or "promotion" of seeing results like muscle tone, definition, endurance, etc. It probably sounds silly but it really does work for me.
Also, think about how you feel after you work out. You probably feel good about yourself for doing it and much more energized. Remember that feeling the next time you don't want to go.
Definately try some group classes if you go to a gym that offers them!!

I went! I've decded I really need to go in the morning, I didn't get home til 8:30 and its 10 and I'm just now sitting down to eat...and this time schedule just doesn't work for me...I don't go to sleep til late and therefore don't wake up til late....soo....I'm going to TRY and get up early and do my workout in the morning and yeah! So thank yall for the kind words!
For me it's hard to get motivated to leave the house to do it. I'm a homebody and once I get home I just wanna stay home, so I think the best sort of things for me are videos and my wii fit etc. I'm much more likely to do something at home if I can, lol. I just bought a zumba dvd and a turbo jam dvd on amazon the other day, can't wait to try them! I think with those things also it's good to have variety so you don't get tired of the same old thing.
hi girl i know how u feel. but gym is what makes me stay on track i know if i skeep my excercise it would be desaster!!. i know is hard to get home late.
i work 9.00 to 2.00 and then 5.00 to 8.00 and then go to the gym 2 hours so i get home at 10.00 pm it sucks!! my mom hates that i come home too late `cuz she doesn´t see me in all day. but i know this is a important thing to do. and my motivation is that is not an option not going!!!. now is part of my life now. so u have to make it a routin!! besides u feel sooooo good after!!!
