I'm about 4.5 months out, down an amazing 83lbs, but lately I have been having gnarly mood swings. I'll be fine one moment and the next I am *****zilla (rawr). Anyone else experience this?

i had no idea that i was doing this until my friend pointed this out to me... then i went to support group meeting, and asked if anyone went super moody.. they all laughed and said YES... everyone said that its bc your body is changing... it happens...

just take a deep breathe!!!

im out 6 months down 130 lbs so far.. and no where as moody!

Most def!  And what really bad is sometimes I will get really mad for no reason and then because I got so mad I start crying (which I used to do even before, yeah I'm one of those people) but now it is way more frequent.  Don't worry, you're not crazy and you're not alone!

I am sooooo incredibly relieved to hear confirmation that I'm not losing my mind! Yeah, I definitely need to find a support group. It's a shame that I can't go to the one where I had my surgery, since I don't live there.

RNY on 02/12/09 with
hey hun this is TOTALLY normal. the main reason is (other then just dealing with major changes) is that estrogen is stored in our fat cells and as we lose the weight the estrogen is released into our system and well, it runs RAMPID! lol its kinda like being on the rag without the bloody show (EWW lol)
Our surgeon included a section about this in our post op handbook. He told us to warn our loved ones in advance lol
good news is it will level out as our bodies do so.
