Did anyone see true life on mtv on saturday
There was a very interesting true life on mtv this weekend. It featured 2 young people, one had rny and one had lap band. It was so cool to see that they are struggling with the same issues I am. Not being happy with the way I look, hating the sagging skin, the closer I get to goal the pickier I'm becoming and wanting to be smaller and smaller. Having issues with finding your identity after losing so much weight. It's called True Life, I'm unhappy with my new body ( i think) I highly recommend it if you didn't catch it.
OoOo my goodness I was just going to post about this is was on again today at 11:00 a.m. I couldn't believe the girl. I was really pissed with her going out to find herself without her kids and husband. OoOO made me mad. I am kinda glad when that guy totally ran into her she kinda deserved it for being out on her husband lol Okay back to the subject matter. Yes I too highly recommend watching it. Hubby watched it with me and now he has new questions to ask surgeon and support group!

It was a good episode. I hope the boy decides rather or not hes rather hes ready for such a life changing proceder. I am glad that after the girl got attacked at a club she stopped going and got some help. I agree that it is a lot to go through. Our bodies change so quick it takes more time for our minds to catch up. I look at my old pics from a few months ago to now and i can see the changes, but cant belive its me. its good to see real people talking about issues people have after wls surgery.
I saw this yesterday and again today w/ my boyfriend. It made him mad to see her going out w/out her husband, I think it kind of made him wonder if i would be like that...but the good thing about our relationship is that we do already go out a lot together, I'm just glad he already is a "down for whatever" kind of guy because I'm sure that as the weight melts away, and i start to feel better about myself i will be filled with more energy that may result in wanting to go out more.
As for the chick on TV, i can understand the occasional "girls night out" but it seems like she was doing it quite often and was just totally against her husband coming along, that's what bothered me. She had an amazingly supportive husband, lucky woman.
I am glad to see that in the end she found comfort in finding a WLS support group, and making friends that have been through the same thing. Just goes to show how much a little support can do!
As for the guy...i was so sad for him when he got his band unfilled and then BINGED majorly on junk food =( I'm glad he realized his error and that he really did need that great tool of his and went back on the wagon with a fill and i can only pray that if he hasn't already done it, that he will be a happier and healthier person when he gets his full body lift!!
kudos to MTV on that episode, it showed that WLS is not all sunshine and roses and didn't portray it at all as the "easy way out"!

VSG on 05/20/15
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm pretty excited about it! I just checked the Guide button on the ol' DirecTV and it comes on again today at 11am CST. yesssss!
I watched it really late last night. I couldn't believe how much he ate at that restaurant, at least he went and got it filled again. Do people really feel THAT deprived after WLS? I'm expecting to be fine with just having a taste of the stuff that's really bad for me. How much of it do you taste when you wolf it down anyway right? It seems like even after having wls and losing his weight in the back of his mind he was always thinking about the things he couldn't have and how deprived he was instead of what a great opportunity it was to have the tool. I suppose his family didn't help though. How many of you feel totally differently about food? How many feel the same way, and feel deprived? Why is it do you think that you feel the way you do about food now?
I'm going to post this as a discussion topic so I can get responses from those who didn'****ch true life, but feel free to post either place :)
