so I got all my paperwork  and gave it to  my surgeons office and they said it was all good and i even got my date june 5th. This was like 2 weeks ago. Well I called United Health care and they still have not recieved anything. Im so frustrated what are they waiting for? They said everything was set to be submitted for insurance. so why have they not send it yet? Im so anxious and nervous and this isnt helping! ughhh anyone go through that?

OoO Yeah! It’s extremely frustrating; my surgeon’s office snail mailed all my paperwork to my insurance on 03/23/09. I called every day/every other day and nothing was uploaded at my insurance. I called my insurance coordinator at the hospital on 04/14/09 called the insurance and demanded a fax number. Faxed all my info on 04/15/09. On April 21st 2009 I got my “official" approval. Hang in there…and don’t be shy to call them yourself!

No, not quite that. That is rough, though. Have you called your surgeons' office to ask what the hold up is? Perhaps there was a mix up and they sent it but United didn't get it, or there was a mix up and they thought they sent it, but it fell through the cracks? (Must have been very BIG cracks!! Jeez)

For me...I was all set, they said they were sending in the paper work and then 2 weeks later they're like "Oh we need you to come in for one more appointment" I'm like...wtf lady why didn't you call 2 weeks ago so we could get this show on the road!!

It's going to happen for you, though! Just hang in there, hon!

I really would. Just to make sure they didn't mess up somewhere! I mean...it's what they do so you wouldn't think they would, or maybe it's just those wacky Insurance companies jerking you around like they like to do to people (meanies I tell ya! lol)

Hang in there though! Let us know what you find out, okay?

First of all, it's OKAY TO CALL THEM!!! Both your surgeon's office and your insurance company work for you. They have to give you information and be good to you.

I fought with my insurance company for 14 months before approval. For a majority of that fourteen months, I called them AT LEAST once a week. Not to mention the calls I put in with my PCP and my rheumatologist and my surgeon.

Just a thought, I finally got tired of being bounced around the insurance company's call center. I would talk to a different person every time I called in, and no one knew anything. I finally found one person that I could call directly, and she and I talked consistently. She new my case and what was going on. It helped immensely.

Keep plugging away. Someone has the information you need, and you can get it done!
