I got my IUD today.
I got the Mirena IUD inserted in this morning. I had such a horrible time with getting it inserted. Terrible pain. Terrible cramps afterwards. Stillllll now, about 10hours later I still have horrible cramping. To the point where I can cry. I had no idea it would be like this. Im thinking about getting it removed if it keeps up like this. I called the Dr. and he said the cramps can last a day or so. ugh. So far, I hate it! I have tattoos, been through lots of broken bones, and nothing has felt like this ...
I really dont like this. Motrin and heating pads doesnt seem to cut it. All what I feel like doing is being curled up in a ball in bed. Has anyone else had an IUD experience like this??

I had the same experience the first day...IT WILL GET BETTER!!! Just keep taking the motrin and use the heating pad. You should be fine within the next couple of days. If the pain is so horrible you can't stand it, then maybe the IUD won't work for you. I have heard a few stories with it just not sitting correctly for certian people. I hope you aren't one of them though!

I had the same pain for the first two days then like magic I woke up on the third day and I was just fine. I havnt had any problems since. I took aleve when I got mine put in and of course the heating pad helped alot! Stick it out, it will be worth it!
