Worst "comments"
So.. a couple of months ago I decided that I was going to try "internet dating." Well, I wasn't having much luck so I stopped getting on the site. Well, today (about a month or so after the last time I got on said site) I got an email. I was curious so I got on the site to read the message. The subject was "You have" and then I open it up and it says "the sexiest double chin I've ever seen!" So now I'm just pissed off because I dont even know this guy.. haven't even been on this damn site in a month.. and people are being stupid. Ugh. So of course I deleted my profile and all my pictures and sent back some snappy comment about his acne. I just can't wait for this crap to be over. Do people think that "fat" people don't have feelings or they just don't care..? (don't answer that.. I already know the answer).
im sorry you dealt with that. ive had some pretty nasty comments, online, to my face, behind my back... cheer up. im still pre op so i dont know what its like "on the other side" yet but i personally think people make those kinds of comments because they feel bad about themselves. confident people dont feel the need to berate and degrade anyone else. good luck on your journey. i think you're way pretty regardless of what anyone else says.
People are and unfortunately will always be dumbasses. I just think that they must live a pretty miserable life to actually say something so mean and hurtful to another person. I could never imagine saying anything like that to anyone about anything!
Chin up (single chin!...I do not see a double chin at all in your picture!)
Take care!!

You know, there's an ex of mine who actually really only likes big girls, and i do mean big. My ex probably won't find me nearly as pretty or sexy after I lose my weight. (I don't care though, lol) Anyway, I supose it could have been truthful... Either way you made a good choice to ignore it I think, some of the guys like that can be creeps.
I wouldn't delete your profile though, my guy is awesome and loves me at whatever weight I'm at. I got him because I wasn't afraid to put myself out there, and I'm really happy I did. He is worth all the rejections. Keep looking! Don't worry about it, you never know when you might run into that perfect guy for you.

Girlie I am so sorry that you encountered a jerk. I wish you hadn't deleted your whole thing and just given up though... That lets jerks like him win. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about who you are or what you look like! I started doing the online dating thing about a year ago (pre-op, so pre-145lb loss) and I have encountered my share of negativity too but I have also met some really nice guys. I have had numerous first dates and I actually just met a guy this week and already I think this could be it. We have been on 2 dates this week and have so mu*****ommon (he even had an RNY 3 years ago so he doesnt think my eating habits are weird lol) Unfortunately there are a LOT of jerks out there and you have to weed them out. People can be rude and mean and not even realize how badly they hurt other people - but being overweight we know this already... My advice is to put a dating profile back up! Be confident! You are beautiful & don't let anyone make you feel differently! And when you encounter guys like that shake your head and laugh cos it's their loss... then tell them to just **** off!
what the heck is wrong with people? Its like when people say: "your so beautiful even though your fat. or for a fat person you are beautiful"..... like you need to mention fat in there.
Of course you could have encountered a "chubby chaser" who loves the double chins and rolls, but Im pretty sure they also love the low self esteem that comes with being overweight.
Dont let that jerk discourage you! Get back on there and meet someone who is not looking on the outside....

Thanks guys. Sometimes dating just SUCKS! I keep thinking about giving up until after I have my surgery (November) because I'm hoping it will be easier then and I won't be so self conscious. Eh, who knows. My friend told me to write back to the guy and say "I hope" as the subject and then when he opens it it says "you die." It made me chuckle but I'm just not that type of person. I think I'm better off just letting it go..
