To get a Tattoo?
I have a tattoo in mind and I might get it on my birthday, but I was wondering... when will it be okay to get one? I know that they scale the tattoo's to your size and I still have weight to loose.
Around 60-70lbs before I reach my goal and by my birthday I should have about 50lbs left.
I want to get it on my wrist so there won't be any saggy skin and what not.... but I'm scared that It will look too big on my wrist when I loose more weight.

Hey girl-

I think that you will be totally fine getting a tattoo, even if you have more weight to lose. It looks like you don't have that much left to lose. I have a tattoo on my wrist and it looks exactly the same as it did when I got it. I also have a tattoo on my left ribs. I thought that one would change... but nope!

Have fun! Send us pics when you get it done!

Vicki :)

none of my pre-op ink changed much after losing 140+ pounds (even my chest piece)
unless there's scarring from stretch marks, it takes some pretty extreme abuse to ruin a tattoo...so get it whenever you feel ready!
...oh, be sure to post pics!

I believe it's safe whenever you feel ready :) .. your wrist is a place that won't change much, if at all. I just got one a week ago on my inner ankle. Post pics after you get it! :)

fun times. I want to get one- I always have wanted one... but I want to get it really low on my stomach... like on my hip bone-ish area... and I always told myself I would wait until I was done losing and that would be like, my reward.

What are you getting?
As someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly!

If you're worried it will look too big after loosing more weight, you can always ask the artist to make it a bit smaller. Just explain to him or her about your weight loss and the rest of your weight loss goals. Most tattoo artists are super smart people and they really know their craft. They might be able to give you a great idea, a different scale, or even suggest something different or draw it differently to make it work for you.
