New To OH

Hi everyone. I am really not sure if this is where you put things like this but I am new to OH. I am looking to make friends on here and learn more about what to expect after my WLS.  I have my first appt May 25th to find out my date of surgery.  If you would like to add me please do.  I am very intrested in any advice anyone wants to give me. lol thank you I can be a pretty big blonde from time to time. I really don't get this OH stuff but I am learning. I am 22 and have my first apt May 25th. I am in Germany so I think they do it different here than they do in the states but I am pretty nervous about it all. First surgery since I was like 4 years old.  Oh...how do you find friends on this thing? Or does it just take time? Lol

First of all Congrats to you! I am 22 years old and I have my first dr appt on the 25th of May just next month.  I think in the states you have to go through more than one appt and a psych exam. Here in germany you don't have to do all that, you just have one appt and then you go in for the surgery your next appt so its a bit different. I really don't know what kinda of surgery I am having yet, I don't know the meanings behind all of them lol. I think I will find that out for sure on the 25th.  I am going with insurance, my husband is in the army and they are actually willing to pay for it. Thank god! I got approved it's just a bit different the papers you have to do with the military.  It's really crazy.  The 25th I should find out more as to when I go in for the actual deal. I am happy for you!!! Please add me it would be great to keep intouch.  I am kinda scared about it all but I think that may be normal? lol

Ahh okay I replied to this but I don't know if I sent it right. Anyways I will do it away. Thank you both for the kind messages back.  I am to blonde for words sometimes. Okay so I do have the insurance and I have been approved. My husband thank god is in the Army and they approved it, there is just other non sense paper work that they have to do before the actual date. I am here in Germany and things are a bit different here on how they work things. It's crazy because I only go see the Dr and crew 1 time before my actual date.  Anyway so I have my first Dr. Appt on the 25th of May, that day I will get my actual date. It may be this Fall until I get it due to where this Dr. is located and people all over Europe go to him. This is a very busy dr. I don't think many Germans do it. But I could be wrong. Anyways so I am 22 years old and at 256 lbs. I have been struggling for the majority of my life. I was a small person for about 2 years of my life and then when down hill not long after that.  I love to meet new people and would love you guys to add me!!

as a 20-something, your journey WILL be different...so this is a great place for info specific to our lifestyles...and theres a cross section of every surgery type here to help you along with specifics!!

Welcome! I don't really have much advice to give, since I'm still in the very early stages of getting approved, but I can tell you that this board is fantastic! Everyone is super nice and really supportive! You're gonna love it here!
