Anyone know why it's so high in calories!?! And protein, for that matter.

I had some today and was doing my little chart for my nutritionist and I was like, holy smokes!

Any rice is pretty high in calories.  I would guess it's because rice is a very dense food with little water content, so a little goes a long way.  I'm not sure about mexican rice in particular, was it prepared with extra fat?

I, unfortunately can no longer eat rice.  It took one or three times of throwing it back up to figure it out.

white rice is a high gi food which means it makes your blood suguar levels rise very quickly, thus, making you hungry more quickly...so its prolly made out of that and as mitchy said they prolly fry it up with mexican goodness...ie FAT hahah...remmeber through the lips straight to the hips cha cha...have to stop and think about eating now...takes a lot of brain power huh...its one of the joys of the surgery :-P
