Advice needed- Shower and Morphine Drip

So I am 4 days out.  How did you take a shower? I still have a JP drain tube and a morphine drip.  I should take out the morphine drip and it makes me nervous.  Any advice?

my first bath was a sponge bath given to me by my mom my first real shower was when i was being discharged and i didnt have my iv in any more. just slow movements and no bennding for me. youll be fine and welcome to the losers bench

I didn't have a drain or anything, so I mostly stood there and washed gently. If I couldn't reach it without pain, honey, it didn't get washed. :)

honestly id wait until tomorrow, they should probably have you off of the morphine and onto lortab/vicodin by then. it will be much easier. i had a drain too...and it was more like a sponge bath!

aww girllie. my mom helped me. and i did not had a drain.... sorry so i can´t give you any advice. but april`s advice is great.

I didn't actually shower until I got home and then my mom helped me, at the hospital I had a sponge bath.

I didnt have a shower until they disconnected my IV and morphine and all that jazz. I was still in the hospital and they had a bench thing in the shower as well as a detatchable spray head, so that pretty much covered everything. But honestly, bathing was low on my priority list at that point. I didn't have a drain either though...
