First of all hi to everyone and thank you for any advice you decide to share.Im currently going threw the process of getting wls but my doctor said i need to loose 30-35 pounds before i have my sencond visit with him. I will have every needed for a second visit by the 2nd week of june, so by then i need to loose at least 20 punds and im having a REALLY hard time! If any of you went threw this please leave some advice on how you guys did it or any tips. Im afraid that if i don't atleast loose some weight my doc will hold back on submitting paperwork for the insurence to get approved for wls this summer! HELP!!!!

My job helped me lose 35lbs before surgery since I walk all day at work (I'm a nurses aid). But what I would do is cut out soda's, juices, junk food, fast food, eating out, and work on portion control. That should help a lot. start walking or working out too and that will help you lose weight. Good luck and hope you have a speedy approval!

Have you ever done something like the Optifast? I know I'm going to have to lose weight before my surgery so I'm going to be doing the Optifast HP(High Protein) program. I get it through Kaiser, but I've seen it online. They had me do that when I needed to lose 10% of my body weight to complete their program and then I'm planning on doing that again after I meet with my surgeon. HTH.

I cut out fast foods, fried foods, and tried to stay away from potatos(I have a weakness for tater tots). I also tried to eat a little something before I went food shopping, shopping while not hungery allows me to stay strong and skip temptations. I also stopped eating out, and tried to eat lots of veggies cooked and raw(good filling fiber). Carbs also tend to make me hungerier after I eat them so I avoid them as much as I can.(though I fall off the wagon now and again)

If you try going for a higher protein, lower carb diet it may help. As well as adding fiber to you diet.
Just my opinion

Goodluck on your WLS progress!
And remember to take it one day at a time, take care of today, now. Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.
