HOLY CRAP IM BEING *****Y!!!! Please help...
OK so no one on the Lap Band Forum is really being helpful...I am 1 month post op I lost 23 lbs in the first 3 weeks. I am now going into my 5th week and i have not dropped a lb in about 9 days actually i haven't even dropped an oz...I am eating 600-1000 cals ( if i had eaten this amount of cals before surgery I would be anorexic) what gives??????... I had 1300 on Easter but that's cuz i was being a little piggy. I am eating protein, cheese, beans, chicken salad mixed with miracle whip (not mayonnaise) Baby carrots. and I'm drinking ALOT of water...Like where the hell am I going wrong?? I have been using my Wii Fit but I'm not really cleared to work out so I have been going to the beach for walks. I thought being only 25 I would lose weight wicked fast like I did in College. I dropped like 70 lbs+ in 4 months and basically did nothing. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong???
PS: I know this is not a magic bullet and i know its not the RNY and I was not given false expectations of the band so ill clear that up with you before i get flamed by someone lmao.

I had the RNY, so this might be different, but.....I saw my nut on Friday. She said for my weight that I should be eating a MINIMUM of 1200 cals, more if I am working out and I weigh 252. She said any less than that I am starving my body and won't lose like I should. Have you had a fill yet? I know a lot of people have said that they don't get any restriction until then and don't lose weight. I hope someone has a better answer for you. Good luck!
sorry you aren't getting a lot of responses on the Lap Band forum. I must have missed your posting. Generally people are incredibly helpful over there! My advice would be that 600 calories aren't enough for your body. Almost everytime i hit a stall it's because i won't be getting enough calories! I eat about 1000-1100 cals a day to lose consistantly. I think being cleared to workout will help a lot too. Exercise is a huge part of this! Also.....23 lbs in 3 weeks is insane... awesome. But you need to give your body a little time to catch up 9 days without a loss isn't really that much when you had previously lost so much so quickly. Patience! Hope that helped a little! :)
Although I'm a preop from what I heard you may be getting in too little calories... I also heard that it is common to get into a stall. Your body may be saying wait hold up let me catch up. Everyone is different just up your protein a little higher and get in 1200 calories.. Also more people will come in to chime in after me.. You don't have to worry about being flamed for a actual question on the 20's board they are oh so gorgeous and oh so sweet in here..
hi girl. we all have stalls don´t get depressed about that. I got my 1 year appoiment last thrusday and I asked for my file. and i was shocked for what i read. ok... in 2 MONTHS!! the 1th 2 months of my surgery i only lost 17 LBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. this is true!!!!. i don´t know how i handle it. and after that 2 months i start exercising and droping the weight i guess my metabolisim as your is slowing dow. 4 not getting enoguh calories. so make sure you are eating well and excercisign. YOU CAN DO IT´...... keep the good workkkkkkk.

Hi there,
I must have missed your post on the other forum as well. Sorry about that.
My response is really no different than all the rest. My first thought is that you're not eating enough calories. Also, it could just be a mini-plateau. I've had many of those. Sometimes your body just holds on to the weight for awhile before it's ready to give it up. It will pass- it has to as long as you're doing the right things. I have had stalls that lasted as long as 2 months, but the weird thing is that during those times, I actually lost inches. My body was shrinking even though the scale wasn't moving. I know it's frustrating, but hang in there. It will come.
