first date ideas?

So I am not goin on any first dates super soon but I do hope to be... and because of my situation with having WLS 7 mon ago I know that dinner dates are a bit awkward... especially if the date doesnt know the situation yet.  So I want to pose the question... What have been some of your best dates?  What have been some of your most memorable dates? What are some good first date ideas?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 coffee is always a safe bet. my bf and I met at Barnes and Noble, got coffee, then browsed together. We looked at art books together and I really got a sense of his personality. Afterwards we went on a long walk down the canal. I was dressed inappropriately for the weather and ended up needing a beach towel to mop the sweat from my brow! 
other ideas:
the zoo
bowling
museums
trivia night at a local pub
anything where food is not the central bonding ritual.

mini golf, tenpin bowling...something physical...coz being physical is part of the new lifestyle now...who knew we based our whole life around food huh...kinda crazy when you think about it

People watching at the park, taking a ghost tour, getting lost on the bus, 2v2 Arena, drunken billiards, a picnic at my secret garden in the city, etc.
