Im trying to figure out how many hours I should take off work for my surgery ( Everything gets submitted 1st week of June) and I know it depends on complications and what not, but how many days were you out of work. I have a sit down job. Im basically on my ass all day. Sometimes I stand but I don't do anything physical. How long were you guys outta work school, ect?

This is my 4th and last week out of work. I'm climbing up the walls. Sure, I get a little more tired than usual, but I was ready to go back a week ago. Although I love "vacation," I think 3 weeks would have been enough. Just my opinion.

I have a sit down job as well and I took about a week and a half off work, my surgery was on a wednesday and i took the whole next week following that off too.  I was on summer break from school so I didn't have to worry about that.  You will get tired after a while even with a sit down job but its not too bad.

when I had my realize band, I didn't take off any time from school- I had the surgery on a friday and went to classes on monday but took it easy. It depends on your pain tolerance, your ability to get to and from work (i.e. if you're on pain meds, you can't drive), and what you can take off. If you're job is flexible and you can leave if you're not feeling well, you can probably afford to take off less than a week or two. However, if you have the ability to, I hear a lot of people with RNY are very thankful that they had a week or two to recover.
As someone told me lately, everyone deserves the chance to fly!

I took off 2 weeks from work but then again I have a very physical job and didn't want to hurt myself. I start back to work on Saturday.... its kinda sad I'm not ready to go back I've enjoyed my break.
