1 Month Out!

 Well I've made it to one month out today!

I'm still pretty frustrated because last time I checked, I was still in a stall. The scale has now become my biggest enemy and I hid it so far under my bed, I think I'd need a flashlight to find it again. From what I'm hearing, if you don't get enough protein that can slow down weight loss. On my good days, I maybe get half of what I should be getting.

Protein will be the death of me. Any suggestions? I just have the hardest time drinking some of those protein shakes cause the ones high in protein make me gag, and the ones low in protein that taste decent don't agree with me.

I have an appointment tomorrow morning with my Dr so hopefully he has some insight.

I never would have made it through the first six months if I had to gag down any more protein shakes...
finding the Isopure RTD protein JUICE (40g protein) saved my life!!! Having the choice of six flavors kept it from getting old for me ( I have the attention span of a gerbil sometimes) and none of the awful shake foam crap!!!
Most health food stores also have protein "shots"...they have a fruit taste and can get in 30-40gg of protein in a few sips...
good luck to you...

I am 5wk out and have the same problem in that I was in a stall.  I have a problem w meat right now and think I'll have to go back to the shakes.  Have you tried scrambled eggs, with a little chopped turkey, onion and mushrooms. That is pretty good (I don't know if you are eating  yet). Someone also posted your weight will slow if you don't get enough water, which is another problem I have.  You have to drink continuously all day to get that much water in-since we can't chug it anymore.Good luck.,,Kat

are you able to keep down any foods yet?

I was eating solid white albacore tuna all mashed up and chicken with fat free gravy that i was put in my food processor...in leu of a one of my shakes.

the protein shakes were horrible and totally made me gag so hard BUT I found a couple tricks that helped me. I mixed my chocolate protein with black coffee and ice and made Ice Protein Mochas. I ended up buying Myoplex carb control protein. Its actually pretty tasty. So is the Jay Robb Choclate Protein. The protein shots are also a good way to get in like 40gs of protein in like 2 chugs {like the others mentioned above}

Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.

 i like glucose control boost.
also, when i want a "dessert," i blend 1/4c yogurt, 1/4c milk, some ice, 1-2 tsp sf pudding mix. after that's blended i add the protein powder and give it a quick swirl, cuz it gets foamie otherwise. sometimes i freeze some s.f. fat free cool whip, and put a little scoop in the cup. Taste T.
when all is said and done it's only about 200 cal.

I am on food now but only soft foods. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to add some more stuff to my diet and get more protein! Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
