Bake Sales and Benjamin Franklin are the DEVIL!

Ok, so maybe not Ben Franklin.  I just saw the movie Water Boy for the first time in forever and forgot how funny it kind of is...(kind of..:-) ).

No, I am in a mother's group and we have a bake sale today.  So of course I have to bring something that will please the masses; peanut butter, chocolate chip ginormous cookies.  Uhhg.  I really wasn't tempted to actually eat them but the smell was incredible.  It's also very hard to not instinctively lick your fingers after you get melted chocolate on them.  BUT, I held strong and just baked them and packed them up.  Yahoo me.

Score one small victory for team Emily

Hope everybody has a great weekend!!

well I think Water Boy is hilarious, but I love Adam Sandler so ya know.

that is awesome that you were able to do that.  i would have had to "accidentally" break a cookie and eat a piece but hey I'm alot further out and I let myself have a bit of something occasionally that maybe I shouldn't but oh well.

Great Job Emily!

Thanks!!  It's nice to be able to cook for the joy rather than to eat it all.  Hopefully I will have the will power.  I'm definately limiting the dessert baking for just Christmas....

YAY YOU!  Congrats on being strong and resisting that temptation! its ooooohh so hard!!

Once a week we have a pot-luck at work and like you said- you have to make something which will please the masses. Of course i dont eat anything at the pot-luck but i usually offer to bring something. Luckily im a pretty picky eater so i just always make something that i, myself dont like. Last week i was on board to bring a dessert so i just made brownies with walnuts ( YUCK! WALNUTS hah) to keep myself from taking that little bite haha. the hard part was getting those walnuts into the batter before i took a lick! hahaha

This is slightly off topic, but have you tried making a bariatric friendly cookie? I've seen a few recipes around, some of them with added protein, although I haven't tried them. At least I know I've seen low sugar, low fat chocolate chip cookies. You could try adding PB2 (http://www.bellplantation.com/), which is actually really good and my nutritionist recommends. They press all the oil out of the peanuts, turning it into a powder that is low fat, high protein. It can then be mixed with water which turns into a peanut butter like paste that tastes very similar.

Good job on resisting those bad sweets though, at times it can almost be torture...
