Struggling

I'm two and half weeks post op and I'm only down 8 pounds. I've lost nothing in the last week and I'm starting to freak out. I know I should step away from the scale and give myself time to heal, but I can't. I lost 15 pounds on my 10 pre-op liquid diet. I lost twice as much weight before surgery as I have after. How is that right? Everyone else loses like crazy right after surgery. I see people losing 15, 20, even 30 pounds in the two weeks after surgery. Why am I stuck at 8?

Tell myself not to think about it isn't helping. I just need to know that I'm not failing at this already.

 There are so many factors that go into how much weight you are going to lose.  How big you are to start with makes a difference.  At two weeks out, I had lost about 13lbs but I had lost 10 post op.  I'm slowing down with my weight loss because I only have about 45lbs left to lose before my goal.  

Just keep on doing what your surgeon says and if there is still a concern, call them.  Don't let other's weight loss frustrate you.

hang in there girl i also had a very slow start! it was horrible. it depends on how much you have to lose. sooo if you are a littl over the 100 lbs to lose is gonna go slower for you.
but you will  loose you`ll see than in a week or so you are gonna drop all the weight you did not droped before. just wait.

you sound just like me!!!

i didn't loose like crazy right after surgery...my body held out for all it was worth. **** i still don't even loose every week. i loose like every 10-14 days it seems and i'm on about a 2.5 week stall so hard.

Sometimes your body just doesn't want to give up the fat, and its probably in shock....just relax and be patient, the weight will come off. Just follow your diet and do the best you can, before you know it you will be down 15lbs, 20lbs etc.

Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.
