Hello everyone!! --- NEWBIE!

I am new to all of this, and actually I don't even know if I'm even a good candidate for bariatric surgery or not, but I'm pretty sure my husband is... So I've setup my account for the both of us to sort of share.  I haven't even begun dealing with our insurance company because I mean, other than visiting with a primary care physician, I don't even know what to really do or how to go about this.  I'm assuming, first visit and talk with our PCP, then apply through insurance?

Anyways, my (well our) main goal here in this forum of to learn a lot from bariatric surgery and to hopefully be able to share our experience during the processes -start to finish- and of course to make new friends!  First and foremost, I look forward to reading some posts and meeting new people...

About me:  My name is Kim, I am 26 years old.  I've been  married to my husband Joel (31) for  7 years now (wow, yes we were young ...), together we have a 7 year old daughter, Jessica (aka the Boober) and a 11 month old son, Nathan (aka Scooter).  Joel wants to have more children, but I feel like I might be done in that aspect, although I love being a mom more than anything in the entire world!!  Who knows, I may change my mind someday.  =)  I work as a Hospice Aid and I'm currently in school for ultrasound tech.  My husband Joel works as a Level 2 Administrator in IT.     Well anything you want to know, please ask!!

Hey Kim&Joel! Welcome to OH! It’s such a great place! I am also 26 married with 2 kiddos myself! I hope you find everything you are looking for. Seriously this is how I would start call your local surgeons office find out the medical codes for each procedures (Lap Band, Open, LapRNY, VSG, and so on) and then call that 1800 number on the back of your insurance card give them each code and have them look them up on your insurance policy to find out if you do have that insurance coverage! Hope things work out great for you and your family! Jump in whenever wherever!
