hello friends, from the hospital's public access computer
hi y'all- I've missed everyone. Rhonda said she updated y'all on what was going on with me, (she has been such a saint since I've been in the hospital!) but I'll give y'all a little more detail and then I'll hopefully be able to catch up with everyone when I'm back at home with my own computer.
Monday, March 16 (first day of my spring break)- Finally, after a few hours of hell, got my upper GI. My doc said my band had moved- that it was probably a slip, but if it was an erosion we discussed options. He told me he would give me a sleeve if I wanted it, so it was like: Nothing, sleeve, or bypass. He scheduled surgery for the morning.
Tuesday, March 17- Have a 7 hour complex band removal surgery/ sleeve surgery.
Thursday, March 19- Having lots and lots of pain even though tests are negative for a leak and my white blood count is dropping back toward normal. Doctor orders a cat scan anyway, finds a leak, and rushes me back to the OR to place a stint in my esophogus that bypasses the hole and hopefully gives a brace for my stomach tissue to heal against. They keep me in the ICU because my heart rate is high.
Sunday, March 22 (last day of spring break)- My heart rate is still very high, my doc gives me 2 tsp ice chips every 4 hours. We have another CAT scan which showes no leak (thank goodness), no pulmonary embolism which they though may have caused the heart rate, and just a little too much fluid around my left lung. Says I may get out Tuesday
Currently, they're working on dehydrating me back to a semi-human level and working out my lungs to function better. I will probably be able to go home within the next few days. This has been pretty yucky all the way through but I'm glad i can see the light
hope everyone is doing alright, can't wait to catch up on y'alls lives. Miss y'all
Ann

...glad to hear everything is going well. - keep your head up - and remember that when you get home you won't have to deal with the frustrations of a public access computer which I'm sure is the most important thing on your mind!...just a little humor, I know - my jokes are comparable to those of well...there so bad theres no comparison! FEEL BETTER!
It ain't how you die it's how you breathe - it ain't what you take it's what you leave and conceive. What you got is nothing if your soul don't represent it -...present it, because it ain't where you from it's where you been kid.
Took my heart; froze that. Promised that if I opened it up it would never close back.
