so i just wanted to vent a smidge.

i've been on a 3 week stall. its KILLING ME. i've been walking about 2 miles a day and doing exercise ball workouts everyday. My abs are killing me. Its just so frustrating that the scale won't budge under 190lbs. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!

1st- What do you guys do when you stall? Any tips for jump starting things?

i'm only 2 months and a week out post-op and am down 54lbs. which i think is good, but i really want to keep losing steadily.

Any suggestions or even just stories of your worst stall experiances would be helpful/awesome.

Thanks for listening to me vent!

you guys are ACES!

I stalled for like 3 months. So don't feel bad - and by the way...once again I know this saying is old - but when you work out - you build muscle. And it just happens - stalling...it's part of the game - just keep playing to win - I honestly liked stalling cause after I broke through - I'd lose in pretty nice spurts.

It ain't how you die it's how you breathe - it ain't what you take it's what you leave and conceive. What you got is nothing if your soul don't represent it -...present it, because it ain't where you from it's where you been kid.

Took my heart; froze that. Promised that if I opened it up it would
never close back.

And in reference to jump starting things...shocking yourself with jumper cables doesn't seem the best way to go... - the better way is to sit in a pool full of water of course in the middle of a electrical station.

You could be losing inches and not pounds...I find that happens to me when I'm not losing scale-wise but my clothes fit better.

I have a bad habit of getting in exercise ruts, so I try something new.  My rut stand by is jogging.  Everytime I jog, the pounds come off.  What I do is I will jog one lap (or however long) and then walk and alternate.

Good luck!

I can understand your frustration. If I remember correctly, I was at a stall my second month as well. I was extremely frustrated. I even wondered if I was going to lose more weight. I remember putting a post on the board venting as well. The responses I received I did not like but honestly they were the truth looking back at it now. People would respond and tell me to be patient, make sure I was getting in my 80 grams of protein, water, and vitamins. Give my body time to catch up on all the weight that I had lost. I hated hearing that! lol

Everyone stalls throughout the first year multiple times. Take pictures of yourself bi-weekly and compare them to your previous weeks. You will notice a difference in your bodies shape.
During my stalls I would make sure I was getting in my 80 grams of protein, water, and vitamins. Try changing your routine at the gym. Dont worry your weight will drop within a month. Your next concern will be your hair loss. But dont worry that will grow back :)

One word of wisdom that I can pass down to you that was told to me. Relax and enjoy your time during your weight loss journey. Take time for yourself and create a list that you can accomplish during the first year of weight loss. That can include hiking, crossing your legs, being able to tie your shoes, fitting into a movie seat without having your sides touch the arm rest ect. Take one day at a time and remember what you weighed before surgery so you can reflect back on that. Stay positive and live your life to the fullest.

In conclusion, 54 pounds is great for the first 2 months. Keep it up and you will be at your goal weight in no time. Time will start flying by before you know it.

I hear you girlie. This month has been slooowwww for me. I've been eating better and working out and saw only 2lbs drop. And finally the other day after dancing for 3 hours straight I watched 1lb slowly fade away. 3lbs in one month and I'm only 5 months out. I hope this isnt going to be a trend. I hope I continue to lose this definitely makes me nervous but on the other hand....

IM FINALLY IN THE 220s!!!!
