Ha! I am so glad I read this post!!! I just had surgery 3/11 and I started to form a yeast infection a couple days ago. It's kind of weird being so open about this, but it's nice to know that it is something other people have had post-op.

Until you get to a doctor drink cranbberry juice and lots and lots of water. That should help. Also you can buy a test at the drug store. It's called UTI something. It should be near the pregnancy tests. Maybe if you take the test at home you could save yourself a trip to the doctor. I get chronic urinary tract infections so I just take the test and call my doc. No visit needed. My homemade cure used to be cranberry juice and mountain dew, but the dew is out since surgery. Cran definitely helps.

I've had chronic bladder infections throughout my life so I feel your pain!!!   First off, drink the cranberry juice and water. Also if you can without problems, they  have some OTC pills called Uristat that will help with the pain.   Call your dr. ASAP when you can.

You will more than likely need some sort of antibiotic to cure the infection.  Cranberry juice, water, OTC pills will help with the pain and urgency but it won't clear up the actual infection so even if you think you are better, it might come back.

Good luck!!
