hunger question (for the ladies!)

It's been so long since I've had periods that I almost forgot what they are like....unfortunately I'm being reminded.

Does anyone just become like a starved beast before their period and if so, how do you deal with the constant nagging that you are hungry?  I'm getting the protein in but it just seems to temporarily keep me full for a few hours.  I'm not eating horribly but I could totally keep snacking on baked pita chips for most of the rest of the day if I would let myself.   Any tips would be grand, I'm pretty miserable and bloated...which is a real buzz kill.

Thanks in advance!

~Emily~

I know you said for the ladies. (I have 4 older sisters) so this whole situation doesn't you know - really effect me. But I had a different situation to add - now one thing that I was blessed/cursed with was the fact I can eat any type of food with no dumping effect...etc - like anything - nothing makes me sick...but I crave chocolate/sugar like once a month almost like I have a period - and I don't know if thats normal as well in regards to the surgery? - like it's crazy - I get moody during that "time of the month" as well...haha - I can't believe I just called my sugar crave that time of the month. Sorry to distract from your post - but  I was just wondering if maybe...the cravings are nomral after the surgery? - but otherwise I can't imagine what it would be like having your (insert P word here) - because if my cravings drive me nuts...- it's difficult to imagine how hard it must be for females.

I was secretly hoping for a guys imput and how awesome that would be....lol....

Yeah, I'm usually pretty take it or leave it with food since surgery until now and it sort of scares me because I'm terrified of messing something up.

I haven't tested myself enough to know what foods I can/can not tolerate but I don't know if I want to dip into those waters either.  Knowing me it would be too tempting at times if I knew I could tolerate anything and on the other hand, I don't want to get sick.

It could be from surgery, but then you hear about people who are never hungry, have no cravings, etc.   Not me apparently.   Wi**** was.  I've been hitting the sugarless gum like a mad woman today just to keep my mouth occupied so as not to eat.

Oh I mean I really don't eat much solid food at all...and I really think the people that say there never hungry - or have no cravings...I think they just say that to kind of try to win the mental battle. Cause they have them just as much as your or I - they just say they don't so they think they don't...and to some extent it works - but...it's genetically impossible per say. I mean - I just keep busy - I work 12pm-9pm, and I go to the gym from 9am-11am and 9:45pm-11:15pm and come home shower and go to bed - so eating...no time. I drink 4 protein shakes a day - and a 10 calorie vitamin water at lunch. And my 11:15pm protein shake - I use organic milk and a scoop of all natural organic peanut butter...thats my daily routine in a nutshell. And I'm off thurs and sun - so those days...I mostly eat - fish - ...oh and organic eggs. - and I love watermelon, cantelope, and any type of melon...some popcorn from time to time with I can't believe it's not butter 0 cal spray. And also rarely some Baked Lays Potato chips...and I don't do the whole organic thing for the "oh I'm organic" trend. I just like the taste better - and with the peanut butter theres more protein...and the eggs - same thing. But the MILK - I love organic milk cause it tastes like half and half lol - and I lovvvvvveeee half and half.

Eww, hope you feel better.  I got sick yesterday too, food related.  It was pretty awful but mine only lasted the one time.

Yea I really had a problem with solid food thats why I kind of make up for as much of it as I can through supplements like protein shakes - because there was awhile there I would puke after every meal because I couldn't gage how much I could eat - and ended up with a nasty - nasty - almost lifetaking bleeding ulcer.
