i NEED input... PLEASE! :0)
I'm scheduled to have RNY on Wednesday. I was told to lose 15lbs. before surgery. I did a low-carb diet for 2 weeks, and have been on a liquid diet for the past two weeks. I've been doing REALLY well, but I can't seem to lose 15lbs... I'm down about 8lbs. If I don't lose all of the 15lbs will they reschedule or cancel? That would completely devistate me. Has anyone experienced this? What are you thoughts? Am I more than likely okay as long as I'm losing and not gaining? I HOPE SO!!!
Thanks :0)

All surgeons probably handle this different. I had 3 1/2 weeks to lose 13lbs and I didn't. I only lost 6lbs in 3 weeks (they moved my surgery up by half a week), but he went ahead with the surgery anyway. I have heard of surgeons who will reschedule a surgery if you don't lose enough though.
Hope your surgery goes as planned!

Speak to your surgeon or his staff and let them know whats going on. They should tell you flat out whether or not he'll do the surgery or not w/o that 15lbs. I actually gained a pound and had 6 months. I wish I had tried harder but my surgeon went on with the surgery and everything went fine. So speak to them and they should tell you.
