NEWBIE!!!!!
I'm new to OH and I'd like to share my story...My name is Ashley im 20 years old i live in Wilmington , Delaware and I'm in the works of having Gastric Bypass done by July 2009. I was a chubby child, fat teenager and im now an obese adult. I come from a somewhat large family so I suppose most of my excess weight is genetics. I'm young and I want to enjoy my youth as a youth and dress according not like someones middle aged mother or wife because of the restrictions being MO causes, i want to go to the movies and not worry about the seats or the rides at the amusement park or on an airplane...IM TIRED OF MERELY EXISTING DAY TO DAY...I WANT TO LIVE LIFE! I LOVE 
shopping and i want to be able to go to a mall and just blow $500.00 on a whole bunch of clothes off the rack and not just 3 outfits from romans, catherines, or lane bryant. I also want more than to look better i want to be healthier, i have asthma, PCOS, and im a borderline diabetic. ...One thing that bothers me very much about being obese is that no matter where you go people will judge you because of your size. and it's frustrating because everyone is just judging a book by its cover anad since most people see obese/overweight people as intimidating, lazy, sloppy unmotivated whatever because were bigger but we also have bigger hearts and were more compassionate and friendly than average weight people...All i know is that once im thin ill still be the same old Ashley(Emotionally anyway lol)..

Welcome! This is a GREAT website for anyone looking into ANY WLS. I am pre-op for RNY as well, hoping for it sometime in April. I have had my pysc eval and bloodwork done, all I have left is pulmonology and my nutrition class. YAY! If you have any questions just ask! Welcome again and good luck on your journey!!!
OMG!!!! Conrats to the board!!! Funny thing i think we have the same problems to with the PCOS, borderline diabetes and all!!!! It comforting knowing that i am not the only one with the problems I have....I agree with you on how big people have big hearts....I have a huge heart...so huge that Im like everyones best friend!!!! I also Vow not to change...and knowing im going to be thinner with this big heart...girl...we will be Heart brokers!!!! dont you love it!!!! Well ttyl...Jessica
