I got the call this morning from the bariatric nurse and she asked me if I was ready to have surgery.  I told her "of course" and she gave me the surgery date of March 9.  I was SO EXCITED!  Only one week left!  Anyone have any last minute advice? And what should I pack for my hospital stay?

WTG on the date.

I took and extra pillow for the ride home after surgery. You would want to hold that against your tummy cause of the lil bumps in the roads.
Chap Stick Your lips will be very dry.
loose fitting outfit for the ride home
Get some GAS X strips for when you get out of the hospital.

You don't need much. . . .
Others may add to the list.

Highest Weight 335                      When I came home 330.2
Surgery Weight 321.4                   Current 170

hey dont be like me and overpack...i think it has something to do with being a girlscout...you know the slogan..."be Prepared"...so i ended up packing for a week but only stayed one night haha anyways

i packed toothpaste/toothbrush , 2n1 shampoocondition deoderant...the hospital i stayed at provided me the little packets of shampoo soap etc that they have at hotels but i liked my stuff better

It can get cold so you might want to pack a jumper for night time...I stayed in my hospital gown and only changed into my clothes when i left the next morning

hopstials provide you with towels etc but i took a big spa bath one...remember you wont be bending and snapping to dry youself off after your shower.  be prepared for a sponge bath from the nurse

it does get boring staring at the walls so pack some enteratiment in the form of magazines, books, ipod even give yourself a manicure to past the time

umm hope this helps :-D

good luck with your surgery, see ya on the losers bench

Congrats on your date!  I'd say to take wet lips/chapstick, your cell phone and charger, perhaps your laptop (if they have a wifi connection), maybe your own pjs and robe for walking the halls and also slippers.  You will want to bring your own toiletries items (toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, shampoo, etc)... the hospital issued stuff sucks if you forget anything LoL.  I hope I haven't left out anything... it's been years since my surgery, but I wish you lots of luck!  That is great that you're getting to have it so soon!  Let me know if you need anything~ *hugs*
