I was just curious. I am 4 weeks out and am just starting to work out. I havent been able to get all my protein in I am trying to work on getting 60 grams but its hard. In my first 2 weeks I lost 20 and so yes thats exciting but I really want to make sure I am on the right track.
Thanks

It's probably best not to compare yourself to others when it comes to how much weight you lose over a certain period of time.  So many factors go into determining that, it's unrealistic to say that everyone should be down X amount by X month.   The heavier you are the faster you will lose initially but the more you have to go to reach goal...vice versa with someone who is a little smaller.  Men also lose faster on average than women.

20lbs in two weeks is amazing...it takes people months to lose that without WLS.  If you are following your surgeons guidelines then you are on the right track.

Getting your protein got easier for me the further out from surgery I got, so hopefully it will get easier for you too.

its diferent for eachone of us. I have a friend who lose about 30 lbs the 1th month. and I lose about 15 or less. and now she is 15 monts out. and i`m 1 year out and I have to lose around 20 lbs to be at goal and she ist about 28. away so don´t base your success in other`s numbers. so keep doing your job and you will lose and u`ll be at your final goal in no time.
so  don´t worry. about that.

Carmen,

I had Facundus, and let me tell you, i had the hardest time getting protein....he lectured me! Said he knew i was excited about finally being able to eat "food" but there was no way I was going to get in 60 g of protein with the amt of food i was able to eat.

I HATE PROTEIN SHAKES!!

I found something I could tolerate...(THANKS AMANDA!!) Try Slimfast Low carb diet drinks.  They are 11oz....fluids....and 20g of protein....AND DONT TASTE BAD!!!  Seriously, they taste like choc milk to me! Best thing is...I DONT DUMP ON THEM! (I dump easy on sugars...this only has 1 gram of sugar)

as for weight loss, everyone is different it depends on your start weight and how much you have to lose total and what your body is going through.  me personally, im at 24 days out....i have lost about 35lbs.

GOOD LUCK!!  IF YOU NEED A WORK OUT BUDDY LET ME KNOW!  I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOMEONE TO GO TO THE GYM WITH!!

I am 2 months out and have lost 30 lbs, 24lbs in the first month and then 6 this month. I was in a stall for a couple weeks. I figure as long as I keep losing than I won't worry about how much I lose a month.

I figure comparing my weight loss to others will only make me feel bad, since I am losing slow, so I try to think about it as without the surgery I would have taken me 5-6 months to lose that 30lbs and then a month or two to gain it back.

Just follow your surgeon and nuts guidelines and you will be fine.

Meet the Surgeon Aug 1, 2011 .... hopefully the surgeons office is right and everything will go fast and I'll have surgery later this month.

the thought of protein shakes really scare me lol...i've never really been a fan of sweets and to my knowledge there is no steak and potatoes flavor LOL
