Birth controll
so Ive been thinking alot about diffrent birth controll options and wanted to know what do yall use. I really want to get away from pills because they make me nausus and I cant remember to take them every day. Heck I sometimes forget to take the stuff we are supposed to take every day. I just would like to know what are yall using and what has been really susfull for yall since wls. thanks in advance.
I switched to tne Nuva Ring after surgery and im thrilled with it. I love not having to take a pill every day, just put it in and then 3 weeks later take it out for a week. Talk to your doctor about what might work best for you. I know some people that have had problems with the ring slipping and other issues so everyones differet :)

I use the Mirena IUD. I've used every form of BC there is, practically and this has been the best by far. It's def. not for everyone but it's worked incredibly for me and the best part is that it's good for 5 years or when you decide to get it removed. Nuva Ring would be my second choice if I didn't have Mirena.

My PCP said I was perfect for Mirena so I'm seeing a gyno next week about it. I posted this almost exact same question in another forum and got quite a bit of info if you wanted to check it out:

I have the Mirena IUD. I also have had 2 kids. It depends on your doc if they feel it is OK to insert it on someone who has not had kids. I think the biggest thing is that it will hurt more on someone who has not had kids, because the cervix has never really naturally softened and opened before. I am guessing that would make the cramps a bit more painful.
the Mirena doesn't alsways hurt moreon women who have not had children. it is easier to put in if you are ON your period because when you are on your period your inner cervical opening is slightly dilated. making the insertion easier. as far as cramps. i have heard from patients who have and have not had children that cramps are worse. mostly the cramps and irregular bleeding for 3 months, but that is to be expected with any birth control that contains hormones

It definitely is different for everyone. My SIL had it and she has no kids - she could not even drive herself home from the office. As far as the cramps go, I felt like I was pregnant for a month and then the rest of the cramps felt like a never ending period for 2 months. I am lucky though - no cramps after that unless I am on my cycle and I also lucked out because I have not had any bleeding since it was inserted. My BF, who has a child, has a very low pain tolerance and if you ask her about it, you'd think she was describing labor!
I had mine inserted during my period. My doc said it is the only time he inserts them.
