Head hunger v. Real hunger
Okay, so maybe i'm crazy, maybe I'm not. I've heard plenty of people say they never get hungry anymore. I get hungry. My body seems to think that I should feed it every 5-6 hours or so. I don't think this is unreasonable, and I'm eating good things. But is it weird? Or have I just trained my body to think that it needs fed? I don't really feel the desire to snack between meals. If I do, it's usually a SF popsicle or some fruit.
I don't know if my eating schedule is head hunger or just normal. I do know that I feel "starving" if I don't eat every 5-6 hours. Is this all in my head?

Not at all. I get hungry too and in about the same time span that you said, 5-6 hours. I can really tell I get hungry sooner if I haven't had as much protein as I should.
It's a night and day difference between the hunger I feel now and before surgery. Before if I was hungry, I'd about eat my own foot off and get shaky. Now I know I'm hungry but it's not like I have to eat immediately just pretty soon. That's nice because it gives me the time to plan out my food instead of just grabbing whatever is in sight.
I get head hunger also, but that's more of when someone is eating something around me that's a trigger food and I really want some....hungry or not. It actually happened last night when my husband and I went out for supper. He ordered what use to be my favorite meal and I gave a few longing stares at it but I just kept eating my little bit of egg and toast. That, to me, is head hunger.
I'm a big believer in listening to your own body and doing what it's telling you. If you are truly hungry, EAT! Your SF Popsicle and fruit sound like a good choice. I have found that light string cheese is a God send for me.
Good luck!

I get the same way with wondering if it's head hunger or real hunger...I too eat every few hours. My nut told me that it is PERFECTLY fine to feel hungry...it is natural. Just eat the right things
