I have read on here about Platsics a lot and am curious on the issue of sagging skin after WLS! Is this an issue for everyone or is it an individual thing? I know that I will deffinately need a breast lift, but i am unsure of anything else. Can someone answer this for me???

I think it's an individual thing. Sagging skin happens to everyone, but the type/location/exact issues are individual. I also think how much sagging bothers you is an individual thing. One of my buddies doesn't care about his sagginess too much (he figures he's clothed most of the time anyway), but it's driving me a little nutty already. And, well, he's a guy. Big difference.

Personally, I'm 1 day shy of 7 weeks out. I'm going crazy because my boobs decidided to head toward my belly button. I'm fairly certain I'll need some sort of tummy tuck/lower body lift...and possibly a brachioplasty.

I can't wait to hit goal and stabilize. I will finally be able to see what needs done and go from there.

jessica i think that sagging skin its the last thing you should worry about! if you get saggy skin,, that`s great!!!!! it means that you lost lots of weight and  that you are healthy. you can fix the skin problem latter!!!!.so you just think about getting healthy and when it comes the time you can worry about the skin problem. and with luck it won´t be a big problem
take care

It's an individual issue.  Some people do have sagging skin and don't care but for other's it more of a medical/hygine issue.   I have no intentions of getting any plastic surgery at this point.

We do have our age in our favor because in your 20's skin is still pretty elastic.

Lifting weights can help in becoming more toned.

Good luck!

Like the other girls said, it's very individual. I've seen some who look like they've had plastics but didn't, others who don't and won't, and others who have had it done. I think it's all about acceptance of your own body, and you've come that far to lose that much weight to where there's sagging skin and if you don't like it then do something. Me personally, if I can love my body at 300 lbs I think I can love it w/all the extra skin too, for me it's going to depend a lot on the health issues because I know you can get rashes etc. if there's too much. Hope that helps :)

I know I was just talking to my surgeon at my pre-op appointment and he said it will vary from person to person. Age is deffinately on our side, but if there are a lot of stretch marks in that area, there is little chance it would bounce back like say, your lower arms would? Make sense? There are a lot of different variables, like how long you've been overweight, and for the most part, most of us have been overweight our entire lives.  I've seen people who have had minimal "sag" and some who have to litterally tuck it into their pants when they get dressed.
I'm hoping im not one of those people for sure!!! haha!
However, i know that I lose and gain weight in my tummy first so it has stretched, and shrunk probably a dozen times. I'm not expecting my tummy to look "bikini worthy" ever in my life but I'm ok with that because I know that i'm making a wonderful choice for the rest of my body.

Good luck!!!
