onederland! (but worried...)
I hit 199.4 this morning! YAY!
My only worry is that since my surgery, I seem to be losing only about 1lb a week, and that just doesn't seem right (besides the 15lbs I lost in the hospital, that is). I'm a bit frustrated because I could be losing just as much on Weigh****chers, but I'm eating less calories than I did back then. I don't really get it.. I got my surgery done in Colombia and I don't really have an eating plan from my surgeon, more like guidelines... so I've been basically eating whatever I felt like (granted in tiny quantities as compared to pre-op) but I'm afraid maybe I'm already f-ing up my surgery. I don't have any dumping and I didn't really have an adverse reaction to soda (I sipped from an 8oz diet coke bottle last night and all I got was some stomach gurgling, but it wasn't painful). What could I be doing wrong? Or am I just worrying for no reason?

Congratulations on hitting below 200!
Since you got your surgery in Colombia, maybe try to find a nutritionist that helps WLS patients in your area that you can visit with every so often. Mine have been so helpful and have really taken a lot of confusion away on what foods are better choices. Even though we are all eating fractions of what we were before, we still need to be filling our bodies with healthier foods in those tiny quantities.
We are suppose to lose the bulk of our weight the first year or so and there will be plateaus. I'm in one now and it stinks but it'll pass. Just keep eating like you should, exercising, and getting your vits and fluids and you will be just fine!
I'm sorry to say this, but I would definitely not be drinking soda. That has been the #1 thing my surgeon, nutritionist and exercise physiologist have all said because of how it stretches out your pouch. So please try to give that up...it's really not worth it!
Good luck!

hey girl. I dunno how long you have been out. but is normal to have stalls ones in a while. we all are diferent. I am a slow looser. my friends who had surgery at the same time lost the weight faster than i did. but that dosen´t mean that you are not gonna get on goal. it means that maybe is gonna take a little bit more time. but that`s good so you body will get used to the change. so don´t worry you will get there. you keep exercising and making good choises and the weight will come off. hang in there and good. luck

Okay please bear with me, I am not trying to sound hateful but you can't just eat whatever you feel like anymore. You had this surgery for a reason, it is a tool to help you lose weight but you have to put some work into it too. Cut out carbs and sugar, eat healthier. Protein, vegetables, nothing fried. Yes it sucks but you want to be healthier don't you? I know its hard but if you want to see results you have to put some work into it and make some sacrifices. And no soda, just about any surgeon or NUT you talk to will tell you NO SODA. If you have access to a NUT make an appointment. Otherwise you might want to search online for daily menus for bariatric patients. Like I said I'm not trying to be a B but you had the surgery for a reason, make it work for you. Good Luck!
