I am 8 weeks out and I feel like the weight has stopped coming off...and it is really depressing me. I've only lost maybe 1 to 2 lbs. this past week. I go to the gym EVERYDAY and I really don't eat...WHY is the weight not melting away?!?!?

1. Muscle weighs more than fat. If you're lifting especially, you're likely adding lean muscle mass.
2. You need to eat to lose weight. If you don't eat then your metabolism will be slow.

It comes in spurts.  Don't worry, I was right there a few weeks ago.  I was losing practically nothing for about 2 weeks then all of the sudden my last 10lbs flew off.

I just keep thinking that we lose most of our weight in the first year or so they say.  So, it's going to be spread out over the course of the year, it's not an immediate thing and we can't expect miracle results overnight.

Even people who don't have WLS plateau, it's normal and it's going to happen.  Don't get frustrated!  Just keep doing what your surgeon/nutritionists tell you and you will be fine.   Concentrate on how far you've already come!

Good luck!

my weight loss stoped around 8 months out.( i dosen´t mean its will be the same for u)  i`m 1 year out now and i did not lose a lb 4 about 2 months. and now i`m back to basics and exercising more and the weight is coming off again(need to lose 20 more lbs). it jus means that you have to try harder to get back on track and the weight will come off. remember that its a honey moon period after a year the real life starts and you are almost there.
you are looking great so don´t let this stalls mess up your head.
hugs!

Food is fuel, sweets.  If you're working out everyday, you have to make sure you're giving your body enough fuel to burn the fat and not eat the muscle you're building.

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.
