Hi....I'm new

Hello,

I've been lurking around the boards for a while now and thought I'd finally post something.  I'm 25 and live in NH.  I am hoping to have WLS in the near future...I haven't even talked to my primary care physician about it yet but I have an appointment on Monday! I haven't had a PCP I've liked since I was 5 years old so I'm pretty excited about this.  Anyway, I just wanted to say hello :)

Welcome... and congrats on deciding to have WLS. I'm 7 weeks out and have decided that it's the best decision I could have made for myself.

The ppl on her are very nice and have always given me great replies and advice whenever I posted anything! I have an appt with the psychologist (which I need clearance from b4 I can see the surgeon) on Monday and I'm excited. Any questions you have feel free to contact me...good luck with the PCP.

welcome =) i hope everything goes well with your pcp, its good that you've been lurking because you'll need to go in armed with knowledge of WLS before you go in to ask for a referral!
My pcp flat out told me no and proceeded to say i wasnt "big enough" and that i just needed to work out, i presented him with all that i had done in the years before coming to this decision(diet/exercise wise) and made sure he knew that I KNEW what i was getting into. He folded and said "ok, i'll put it through" lol.  I have a "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" atitude, and i think he knew i was ready for a fight! lol

Hey there I'm new too! I have been wanting this for years but seeing as I was pretty young I figured no one would do it. I still haven't had an appointment with my PCP because I lgo to school an hour away from my hometown but I'll be home in about a month so I will be able to get an appointment then!

hi welcome to the board. I can tottally relate to not having a doctor, after not going to the doctor for years my surgeon told me i had to go through my pcp. I found it embarrassing explaining to him that I wanted weight loss surgery but I got over it and I made it to the other side of the losers bench. Good luck on your journey
