Protein Shakes...need something different

I'm so sick of chocolate. I know that will seem like an impossibility to lots of you, but I didn't like it before surgery, and I'm still not a fan.

I need to find a protein powder for shakes that isn't chocolate, isn't insanely sweet, and doesn't taste like crap. Any suggestions?

I am currently trying out proteins as a pre-op.  I bought the syntrax nectars sample pack.  I have only tried one because I just got it yesterday.  It was Strawberry Kiwi and not bad at all.  They have all kinds of fruit flavors.  The sample pack is 11 full size samples and they are running a promo so you get the samples with shipping for 9.99.  if you call their number they will take your cc info over the phone and give you the special.

this is the email I recieved:

At the request of literally thousands of pre-op and post op bariatric patients, support groups, Dieticians and Physicians, we have made some changes to our sample program for 2009. We had been offering ½ serving size samples of 3 flavors of our protein products and many individuals were asking how they could sample more flavors. With that in mind, we have introduced our new “variety sample pack." We are now making available “full serving" size packets of ALL 11 flavors of our Nectar™ protein! The normal retail price for all eleven full serving packets is $21.89 plus $5.00 shipping. We are offering a one time coupon for $16.90 off the retail price, that will bring your price down to only $4.99 plus $5.00 shipping, for a total of $9.99! This gives people the people the ability, for the first time ever, to sample all 11 flavors at one time, for less than $1.00 per serving. This will now be our sample program, so if you would like to take advantage of this new program, simply call us at the number listed below. We will also be making this new program available online when we introduce our new website sometime in the next 30 days.

One of the best things that I have found to do is get a basic vanilla or plain protein powder and add about a tablespoon or two of sugar free jello pudding powder to it.  That way you can have whatever flavor you want and it won't be overly sweet.  I mean think of how many different flavors there are!  I love the lemon and I add fresh strawberries to it.  You can also go on the following website:  www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com and she has so many different recipies for everything, including a lot of protein shake ideas.  good luck!

I also just got the Syntrax nectar sample pack a few weeks ago. Most of the flavors aren't bad and if you mix them with Crystal Light they're even better!

I usually take the vanilla powders and add some fruit to the mix!  Yummy!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

I take the unflavored one and i mix it with strawberries an a lot of ice or with other kindda fruit you can add bananas and peanutbutter(  i don´t like bananas but a lot of people like this mix). or  some coffe and ice to do a mocachinno frappe i love that!. be creative. or just add your protein to creammy soups.
