Time frame for pounds lost?
I was just wondering what kind of poundage (ballpark) everyone was experiencing and if any patterns were evident in the time frames/pounds lost area.
I'm about 2 months out and have lost close to 40lbs since my pre-op class.
Like you, I've experienced and am now (grr) some plateaus here and there but I'm really not going to argue with the 40lbs that are gone. I think there are so many factors that go into it even if we all eat exactly like we are suppose to as to how fast the weight will come off on each person. I think one big factor is probalby how big you are to start with...bigger people will lose faster but have more to lose, smaller vice versa. Male/ Female, exercise, water, eating enough and in my case getting enough milk/.protein in a day can also play a role.
One thing that I never would have thought would have come from this surgery was the fact that I've been forced to be patient. But if we are all doing the right things, it will pay off in the end..wherever that end happens to be. Also, only weighing myself every couple of days has helped my sanity!
Good luck!!

I read once that a normal weight loss in the first 3 months is 15-25lbs a month.
So, I wouldn't stress about plateuing for the past 4 days. That actually happened to me last week. I dropped like 17lbs right away, and then was at the same weight for like 5 days! Then this morning I went down another pound. YAY!
And, like somebody said, it all depends on many factors... you might be on a mini-plateau so it might be good to go back in your food journal (if you keep one) to see what you were eating before. Or you can just increase your water & protein intake.
Also, 25lbs in 20 days is AMAZING! So, go you!

The plateaus have arrived! And they come for everyone at different times and throughout your weightloss. Dont worry! There is no possible way you can stretch out your pouch this early and start gaining. Your body is just in shock. I mean just moments ago it was 13lbs heavier or 25lbs heavier and now its gone. My nutrionist said the true test of this is to measure yourself. I did and I was amazed. Sometimes it takes your body a minute to catch up. At 3 months out I stopped losing for almost 9 days. I thought I had messed something up and within the last 3days 5lbs have fallen off mysteriously! I just make sure to eat right, workout, and measure myself to make sure my mind and body are in a good place. Congratulations on your weight loss ladies. When have you ever lost this much weight in such a short amount of time? When was the last time you weighed your current amount? Think about that instead of worrying about the weight coming off. Youre doing great and you should be sooooo proud of yourselves!
