they have to keep the thingy on your finger to monitor your oxygen so i would assume you should wait till you get home. lol

NO - otherwise the anesthesiologist, nurses and your surgeon cant see if you are getting enough oxygen!  You can't see thru nail polish.  Being an OR nurse, I know of what I speak.

 I was told not to wear any to both the surgeries I've had because of possible risk of infection from an outside source.  My husband works in Radiology and I asked him about it and he said that in the surgries he is in, if the patient is wearing any toenail poilish, they have to tape around their toes with surgical tape.  It's probably just easier to remove it before the fact.

I am having surgery next monday and they told me no make up and no finger or toe nail polish!
