How I Celebrated my 30th Bday and One Year Surgiversary (Lotsa Pics!)

Hello long-lost friends!  Like so many of us, the farther out I am from surgery, the more I've been out living life, and the less I seem to visit OH.  That's my story for sure!  But as I approach goal weight, I've been kicking myself to get involved in OH again because all sorts of new questions and challenges are popping up!

But I digress...

January 2009 has been a HUGE month for me in so many ways.  I turned 30 on the 5th and celebrated my one-year surgiversary!!  When my journey started so long ago, I promised myself I would not celebrate my 30th morbidly obese, miserable and filled with shame.  And I spent the last two years working so hard to make that happen. So to celebrate this BIG month, my mom and I took a two week cruise to the Southern Caribbean!!  We visited so many beautiful islands and at each location, I challenged myself to do physical activities that would have been impossible pre-op.  We went scuba diving, hiked a rainforest, hiked a waterfall, snorkeled, danced endlessly, swam and even zip-lined!  Here are a few photos of our trip and my One Year Surgiversary before/afters.  Thanks so much for celebrating this momentous month with me!

Love,
Heather
