oh jeez. im sitting in the hospital as we speak waiting for my Pancreatitis to ease up so i can go in for my gallbladder removal because my gallstones are what caused my Pancreatitis.... No on has mentioned a weight gain to me and i know a lot of surgeons go ahead and remove it during the WLS itself. I hope this is not true but i will talk to my surgeon when he comes to check on me in the morning.

I had my gallbladder removed in Sept of 07.  I did not have any significant weight gain as a result and I also have never heard that having it taken out could case weight gain.   I don't think it's really anything to worry about, in my opinion.   It's a heck of a lot better to have it removed than to be miserable everyday from gall bladder attacks like I was.

I had my gallbladder removed in May 08 and I had my gastric bypass in November 07, I never gained any weight after the surgery. I actually lost quite a bit more after I had it! So, no worries!
