3am ER and Surgery :(
So 3am this morning i get woken up by the most intense pain i have ever felt. It was accross my upper abdomen and i was screaming in pain. Made it downstairs to the parents room and dad rushed me to the ER. After getting plenty of pain meds in me to stop my yelling haha, they did a CT scan and it was determined that i had Pancreatitis. At that point we decided to have me transferred to Vandy (where i had my RNY). Once here they did an untra sound trying to find out what caused the Pancreatitis and surprise surprise- its Gallstones! yippee! SO. I am supposed to be starting back to classes this week and instead i am stuck in a hospital bed waiting for my Pancreas enzymes to go down so i can have my gallbladder removed. My surgeon just came in a few minutes ago and told me that i should be able to have my surgery tomorrow or at the latest wednesday. Im so glad these pain meds are working well because that was seriously the most horrible pain ever! It felt like someone was ripping my insides out :( you do NOT want Pancreatitis. Holy Moly. Anyways i was just sitting in my hospital bed and thought i would update yall on whats going on. Hope everyones elses week has started out better than mine, haha. Ill keep yall posted as to when im going to have my surgery and all that jazz. Happy Monday ;) hah.

wow Courtney I am so sorry to hear that. I didn't have pancreatitis, just galstones... and they hurt like *!*!*@# so yeah, I can't even imagine. how scary. I'll be praying for you. I'm glad they found it quick and will deal with it- My galbladder surgery wasn't as painful as my laproscopic band surgery so I imagine after RNY it won't feel bad comparatively. Keep us updated
