Nursing school anyone?

 I was just wondering if any of my 20 year old peers in here are considering nursing for their profession in the near (or already are one) future? I'm trying to apply to a few schools and just wanted to chat about the process and the weight issue if that applies at all. Lemme know something peeps!

  I'm not doing nursing but I am going for a radiology technologist career and the compared to the nursing school in my area the processes only very slightly. I apply in June for the program and cross all fingers and toes I get in!!!  That's wonderful. I hear good things about being a radio tech. Good money in it too, like nursing just about. I also apply this semester to 2 or 3 schools so yeah let's hope we get in omg! Good luck to you!

I'm currently taking my pre-reqs to apply to get my BSN.  I already have my BA in marketing, so this will be my second degree.  I'm pretty excited about it.  Because I already know what it's like to work full time and go to school full time, I wanted to nip my weight issues in the bud now.  I'm scheduled for VSG on March 14 (spring break).  That way, during the nursing program, I will actually be able to concentrate on school.....not constantly obsess about weight.

That was a big reason for me to get the surgery too. I had RNY last March thinking I would be getting into nursing school soon so hopefully I'll get in. Good luck to you in all of that busyness!

Long term, I want to practice medicine as a CRNA, so that's why I'm going back to get my RN. 

hey there! I actually am an RN. I've been overweight my whole life and I was about the same size I am now when I was in nursing school. Honestly, nursing school is more emotionally and mentally draining than physically. Let me know if you have any specific questions, I'd be more than happy to help!

I am currently in my last semester of nursing school and had my RNY on 12/15 during my 6 week winter break. I wanted to be healthier and more fit when I went off to practice. If you have any questions or concerns about school shoot me an email, I would be glad to help out.

I am 4 months away from being an RN... My surgery is scheduled for 1/21. The only weight issue I have is that during my 12 hour clinicals my legs and feet hurt so bad when I get finished. Any other questions let me know :)
