I know that I have been turned down a time or two for jobs due ot my weight. Im just wondering how many people had more, new, or better opps after they lost their weight?

I totally agree...
but it feels like EVERYONE treats "normal" people different...It took me a long time to wrap my head around it and stop being so angry...I used to really resent anyone who was "nicer" to me after losing weight.
But my therapist pointed out that:
-I am now more confident and it shows...I give off a better vibe now.
-NOBODY really wants to risk offering a job to someone who will be a "medical issue" if someone who appears healthier is equally qualified.
-human nature draws us to "attractive" people...it makes the people around us more comfortable.

but in all honesty, WLS really has made me more qualified for more jobs...my attitude, mobility, enthusiasm, stamina, self esteem, energy level, general appearance and ability to be comfortable socially has opened so many more doors.

I am a hairstylist, and at 315 lbs., I called a salon to ask if they were hiring. After discussing my qualifications, they said they were 100% going to hire me, they just needed me to come in and fill out my working paperwork. They were so exciting to have me working for them. I came in 2 days later to fill out my paperwork and get my hours. The manager of the salon was a greasy old man, and after taking one look at me, he says "Sorry, were not hiring.". I said, "Oh no, I'm Jessica, I was already hired, I was told to come fill out paperwork today?". He said he was mistaken, and wasn't hiring any stylists right now. It was him I had spoken to on the phone, after seeing me he essencially threw me out of the shop. Since losing 117lbs., I have been offered 5 salon jobs.

Of course! Because when you are fat you certainly cannot be stylish and know anything about anything but food! **snark**

Doesn't that make you wish you could have recorded it - then gone in now and gotten a job and sued the crap out of them. I woudln't even sue for hte money - but to bring it to the front that people really are that shallow.
BTW, you are beautiful!

I was never really turned down for jobs for being fat...but I feel a million times more confident going into an interview as a normal-sized person.  Confidence is such an important factor during an interview.
