Fatigue after wls??
Hey, I'm considering having the VSG, but I wanted some feed back on what I should expect my energy level to be afterward and for how long? I'm worried not only about directly after the surgery, but also long-term with such a restricted diet - will I just be constantly fatigued? I'm a waitress, so I'm on my feet, fast-paced all the time. Anyone else have wls with such a go-go-go job? How long before you were up to snuff?
**Thanks**

Hello!
The first week or so after surgery, I was pretty tired but after that my engery levels were fine. Now I"m going into 6ish weeks out and I feel fabulous and I have tons of energy. I've been going to extreme cycle classes and working out everyday and I still have energy to spare. I don't have a go-go job per say, but I do have a 2 year old so I think that counts! I think our age gives us a benefit in the energy area.
Best of luck!

I'll be three weeks out of RNY on Monday and I'm so tired all day. I can't make it through the day without a nap. The first week or so out, I slept about 15 hours a day. Although I might add, that I have not been cleared to begin taking all my vitamins yet. My surgeon staggers them over the course of a month.
Hey!
I am a pre-school teacher and full time student so im ALWAYS on the go haha. I had my bypass surgery in july so luckily i had another month and a half before my classes started back and. I was pretty lathargic for the first 2 weeks or so until my body got used to some of the changes. But after about 2 weeks i could handle a day at work, however i was going to bed earlier. By the first of september i was not only back to normal but the weight loss gave me SO much MORE energy! I make sure i eat something within the first hour of being up in the morning to get my metabolism going and have plenty of energy all day and it feels great!! Good luck!

Weeks 5 to about Week 7 kicked my booty! I doubled up on vitamins and got liquid B12 and used like it was my personal crack! I was in the process of relocating during that time, going to grad school full time & working full time....so, I was booked! Then...I had energy for days with little desire to sleep! Who know! But, just remember stay on your vitamins: Flinstone chewables twice a day, Bariatric Advantage Iron once a day unless I am on my period then twice a day, B12 once a day, vitamin C once a day and calcium twice a day...whoooo~ Holli
