hi guys

just had a question about travel. I was speaking to my dietican just before christmas and i told her i had plans to travel. She told me that i have to be careful of long haul travel as the air compression in the cabin can cause a blowout and or make travelling very uncomfortable. I was just wondering if anyone has had problems with this and how long did you guys wait before travelling on planes after your surgery? Please keep in mind, that i live in New Zealand - at the bottom of the world and long haul means 12 hours +

I haven't heard anything regarding plan travel.  I was on a plane for eight hours in October and didn't feel any discomfort...

Maybe talk to your surgeon rather than the nut for clarification?

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

I flew a week after surgery and the only advice my doc had for me was to walk to prevent blood clots. I know a lot of long distance flights will actually urge their customers to stretch and walk a bit for the same reason.
