Head hunger and other questions..

Hey guys!  So my surgery is 2 weeks from today!  I am so very excited about it and can't believe that it is finally just around the corner!  So far the excitement has totally out weighed the nerves (even though they are still there sometimes!).  I have a couple of questions for whoever can help me out.

1) I started a required liquid diet yesterday (protein shakes, broth, SF popsicles, and SF jello).  My surgeon only requires one week, but I am doing 2 just to get use to it.  How did you deal with the head issues?  Like the idea of not really having anything solid or the thought of not feeling full because your not actually eating anything?

2) What things did you make sure to do in the weeks before surgery in order to prep and make coming home easier?

3) Things I need to be sure to take to the hospital?

4) What are helpful things that I should get/make sure I have at my house for after surgery?

I appreciate everyones help!  This board has been a great support system for me and an amazing wealth of info!

Congrats!!!! Dont be nervous, be EXCITED!

1.****pt myself busy or ate on my SF popscicles...... mostly I didnt have the hunger issues, but when i did i "chewed" on that....

2.) I just made sure my bed was made and I had my medications there and all of my "new groceries" purchased

3.) I would advise just taking what you need, nothing more because the more you pack, the more you have to bring home and unpack sore.......I wouldnt bring a book or anything, you need to walk as much as possible

4.) I would def. rec. making sure you have all of your medications (vitamins or whatever the dr req. and if your taking anything on a reg. basis) Gas X is nice to have afterwards, and all of your liquids.....

Good luck, =]
