I feel like I am failing ALREADY

I had surgery on the 19th of this month and have only lost 14lbs so far. I am eating 4oz of food per meal and am intaking about 600 calories a day. Everyone else I have spoke w/ is barely eating 2 oz and they are months out. I am starting to feel that this is going to fail like everything else I have tried. I mean if it wasn’t going to fail then why does it seem like my experience is so different from everyone else’s..

I’m sorry to sound all negative it’s just how i’m feeling

u have definatly not failed!  14 lbs is alot in that short of time!   the reason why u can eat  4oz now is prob cause ur eatting things that are pureed and liquid...they slide threw quicker.  when u advance to solids u will eat less.      when i was on liquid/pureed i could eat about 4 oz and then when i went to solids i went down to like 2 oz or less.   so dont worry.. u are right on track!  u have had ur surgery for only like 10 days..   i hadnt lost as much as u at 10 days and now im at 14 weeks and have lost 70!       so keep ur head up and stay positive! the weight will fall off so fas u wont even believe it!     good luck   :)

You are right on track, Jamie is completely correct.  One... you can't judge your progress against others, it WILL get you on a negative track if you're behind them in one way or another.  Two... you're fresh out and should be eating soft stuff... mostly liquids right?  Of course you can eat more.  I can do an entire can of soup, but don't ask me to stuff alot of beef down my throat, I'll be sick.  There are just consistancy differences.  You're doing amazing, keep up the great work and make sure to drink your water!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

you are not failing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you are failing that mean that i should to. `cuz i lose so little the 1th month like 12 lb and now i`m almost at goal.. soooo don´t be so hard on your self and follow the rules.
and most important thing don´t stop eating!!! don´t feel guilt when you eat. `cuz you need all the nutrients right now!!! and take your vits. and sip sip.

wow keep up the good work gurrrlfriend 14 pounds thats a dress size in about two weeks thats awesome stuff. It would take me ages to loose that much if i slaved at the gym and stuck to a diet ...just remember slow and steady wins the race so keep it up!  remember, we're our own unique individual so just compare yourself against your own success not others. its very inspirational to hear that you lost that much in 2 weeks - makes me really happy that im starting my journey verrrrryy soon - ill be in the loosing circle with you yay!

You shouldn't feel as though you're failing. As Jaci pointed out everyone loses weight at different rates, so just focus on yourself and not others. However there are a few things to ask yourself, such as are you exercising? My surgeon cleared me for light cardio 1 week out, and I've been either trying to get in 10,000 steps a day or jogging. What kinds of foods are you eating? Are they high in fat and sugar? Fat and sugar can be more detrimental than calories. WLS is a process, it's not instantaneous, so if in a year you've only lost 14lbs, then maybe you should begin to worry. I wish you the best, but try to stay positive about it!

Oh no, only ONE pound Per DAY!?!?

Please...spare me the pity party.  You are something some people call successful!

First off nobody was asking for a pitty party. My problem was a little more to me not losing weight.
This is a forum where I should be able to come in and express my concerns and how I feel w/o some A%# being smart!!

Someone needs to sit you down and explain the meaning of the word SARCASM.  One pound per day is amazing!

Ask anyone here, I have been on this forum since I had surgery, and never had one mean word about anyone.

You are doing amazing weight loss wise.
