So, something is starting to happen that I'm not use to. I'm getting all kinds of people flirting with me...some welcomed...some not! Its getting obnoxious and I dont really know how to respond. I mean I'm not use to it and a compliment is a compliment, right? When does it become offensive and whats an appropriate response?

Even better whats an appropriate response if youre not interested and do you tell someone when something they say is rude?

Follow your gut feeling on what is appropriate to you and what is not. As for a response if you not interested just tell them how it is, if that doesnt work then be more blunt I guess, some guys just don't take no for an answer. You can always call security if things start to get out of hand.

Compliments can be such a double edged sword sometimes.  Especially if they are from someone you don't really want anything to do with...and that always seems to be my problem!

If I got a compliment from someone (pretending I wasn't married for a second) and I was not interested in them,  I would thank them for the compliment but then change the subject to something or excuse yourself to the bathroom, etc.  In other words, don't give them any reason to think that you are interested back.  If someone is being down right rude, I would tell them that I was not comfortable taking about whatever and leave it at that.  They'd have to be pretty obnoxious not to get the hint.

Ohhh the greatness of compliments.  I usually am so oblivious I don't realize a flirt when one is right in front of me... but there are those creepy old men and weird guys.  I usually thank them and then excuse myself.

In a bar situation, I thank 'em and drag a girlfriend onto the dance floor... seem to work!  Same thing if I see them getting the creepy flirt... drag her out and she's safe!  Holler!

Congrats, girl, you are looking great!  Keep your head high and be proud of yourself.
