I did it!
I did it! I had my surgery on 12/15 and everything went great. I am not taking my pain meds at all and have been up and about since discharge. I feel like they didn't even do anything to me except that I am not hungry at all. Today was the first day that I can really feel when I eat (pureed only) or drink anything. It feels a little heavy in the puch area when I am sipping my water and my pouch is really grumbly. I am pretty sure this is from my stomach "waking up" from the procedure with nerve endings and all finally beginning to grasp what the hell has gone on in there lol. Again NO PAIN at all not even taking tylenol.
The hardest thing is the head hunger. I have troube sleeping b/c all I think about is food and what I should have easten before surgery. I just have to keep telling myself that I will eat again lol. I'm not going to let this get to me. I would srongly reccomend to patients pre-op that they diet beforehand (I didn't b/c I thought I was the **** and our Dr. didn't require pre-op liquid fasting or anything) and gorged myself b4 surgery. I think that is just making everything harder now.
Did anyone else have that wierd heavy feeling in their pouch area about this time (10 days) out from surgery?

I am so happy for you!! I had my surgery on the 19th of this month and like you I didn't take any pain meds at all except for the day of surgery. I am feeling great right now and as of right now tolerating everything so wonderfully that I'm afraid that maybe the doctor didn't actually do the bypass
...
I have no heavy feeling, I have to slow down when drinking because I feel like I can just chug, and I am even tolerating the protein great!!
I also dream about food..I am constantly thinking about dairy queen and how I wish I had that before surgery and other foods. Every dream I have had since surgery has had food in it lol... So your def not alone on this one.
