new here/insurance?
I have Aetna. I've heard mixed reviews about their coverage....
The one thing I worry about is the diet/program. I have never joined any official group like Weigh****chers even though I have been athletic (multiple sports & seasons) all my life & go to the gym at my university....I think the doctor I'm looking into has a program that might qualify me....

I have aetna. it wasnt that hard of a situation for me...i have a 40+ bmi, and i basically followed their clinical policy bulletin. if you have any questions, email me, and i can help you out, i just got my approval today, only took 10 days from when i submitted all the paper work. i am scheduled for surgery feb 2 (at my request, gotta get money together and all that jazz)
okay. i went to the seminar this week & i know my mom was pleased. i feel like she is getting more comfortable with this. i also got my last few years of medical history. in 2005 my BMI was 40.1 2006 i was 38 (although i'm going to question my doctor because i don't recall a drop in weight that year) 2007 i don't have but summer of 2008 i was 42.8. i believe i saw on the Aetna insurance website that it had to be 2 consecutive years of a BMI over 40. i guess i didn't go to the doctors in 2007, but i know i was still over. i think i'm going to make an apointment with my doctor (since i've never mentioned wls to her) to discuss my history & get me on a program so that by the time i am done, i might be eligable....
