A Pre-op Vent
So I got some advice about my 12lb weight gain pre-op. Especially after I stopped smoking. The advice was to call the office and let them know. I got my Nurse's answering machine and left a rather freaked-out message about my concern of not being able to go through with the surgery if my 12lb weight gain was going to be the reason. I explained to her that I walk briskly 30mins a day. and put myself on a 900calorie diet that I log everyday on fitday.com. I'm pretty sure that I lost some weight but I stressed in my message that I want to be sure that I'll be able to go through with this especially since I have to drive 4hours to the clinic on a work day for my Pre-admission testing. I asked if there was any other diet that I would benefit from.....
Well this was four days ago. I'm not sure if she didn't get the message or if it isn't a big deal to her. I'm assuming that she didn't get the message because she is really good at calling me back when I have a question or concern. I suppose I'll call again on Monday. I'm still kinda stressed out because I want this more than anything I could think of. But I'm glad I wrote it down because some of my anxiety is gone and I can breathe a little better for some reason. Thank you for letting me vent a bit. Hope everyone is doing well!

You stopped smoking thats great! Be proud of that! Your doctor and his nurses arent morons. They know that when people quit smoking their taste buds work better making food test better and making it more likely for you to eat. Don't be too hard on yourself and just stay on top of these doctors and nurses when they start to slack. You definitely wouldnt be the first person to gain weight before surgery and my doctor required a liquid diet 2 days before surgery and I lost 8lbs in those 2 days so stay positive!
